6 Players from ATL v. BAL who are playing for a roster spot

With four games on national television tonight, I thought I would go game by game and give you 3 players from each team that are currently fighting for a roster spot with their current teams.  On August 27 — Prior to 4:00 p.m., eastern time, clubs must reduce their rosters to a maximum of 75 players on the Active List, which gives these guys just two more games to make an impact before cuts.  Here are three guys on each team that I believe need to stand out if they want to make the rosters.

Micanor Regis – DT – The former Miami Hurricane standout made a huge mistake trying to come out early last year and it is has haunted him since.  Unless a major injury to the DT’s of the Falcons I would be shocked to see Regis make this roster.

Brian Banks – LB – While it is a feel good story, Banks might be on the outside looking in.  The roster is so jammed pack with solid linebackers, I don’t think Banks will have a good shot at making the roster.  With the great play of undrafted rookie Paul Worrilow from Delaware, Banks could have even lost a shot to stick on the PS.

Sean Renfree – QB – The Duke standout was a very solid prospect last year, but he is competing with both Dominique Davis who seems to have the #2 on lock.  With the emergence of Seth Doege the other former rookie from Texas Tech, Renfree could be on the way out.  Either way one of these quarterback could be a practice squad guy.

Visanthe Shiancoe – TE – With the recent signing of Dallas Clark and the news from Coach Harbaugh saying that they will not rule Pitta out yet, it makes you wonder if the Ravens have plans for Shiancoe.  Dickson could miss the opening game, but I think Dallas Clark will out perform Shiancoe in tonight’s game if he is a go.

Tommy Streeter – WR – Another player who I wasn’t sure about entering the NFL draft last year, is definitely on the roster bubble.  When the Ravens drafted Aaron Mellette and he showed out last week, it put Streeter a spot lower on the depth chart.  I think with the recent signing of Brandon Stokley, Streeter is the lone man out.

Pernell McPhee – DE/OLB – McPhee was moved earlier this year where they took him from Defensive End and placed him at Outside Linebacker.  McPhee is an amazing inside blitzer, but the Ravens are suspect after Suggs and Dumervil at outside rushers.  After Adrian Hamilton’s amazing play last week, McPhee could be getting the pink slip.
