Tarleton State adds former Western Kentucky quarterback Steven Duncan

Tarleton State is moving to the FCS in 2020 after dominating Division 2 for the past several years. This year they will do it with a new quarterback with FBS experience. Steven Duncan an experienced grad transfer from Western Kentucky that is headed to Texas to play for the Texans.

The 6-foot-5, Steven Duncan comes to Tarleton after spending the last four years at Division I FBS Western Kentucky, where he appeared in 12 games over the last two seasons. He started eight of those games. The great thing is Duncan has two years remaining. Head Coach Todd Whitten was pumped to add Duncan.

“We couldn’t be more excited to add a quarterback like Steven,” said head coach Todd Whitten. “He brings high-level game experience from the Division I level and will provide excellent leadership for our team as we transition to the FCS level. We’ve had a history of talented quarterbacks here at Tarleton State University and I feel confident that he has the potential to fit that mold.”

Can Duncan fill the shoes of Ben Holmes?

Duncan had a solid couple seasons for the Hilltoppers. He threw for 1,863 yards to go along with 14 touchdowns. Tarleton State has some studs on their roster this year, and adding Duncan will be huge! Ben Holmes the former Buffalonian was a beast for the Texans, but he graduated last year. Duncan will have some big shoes to fill, but this is a great opportunity for him to shine.
