The CFL and the XFL should be super pumped with the news of the AAF
The Canadian Football League was a league that somewhat suffered from the start of the new AAF football league. The CFL quickly came to an agreement with the GFL in Germany and several other leagues overseas. They knew they wanted to have players who could shine in their upcoming seasons, so they took some pretty smart measures.
Now, with the AAF looking like they may shut down, the CFL needs to start getting their names out there quickly. The CFL could use many of the players in the AAF. Several players will get a shot in the NFL, but many will be still out of work. The CFL can offer a guy who is aging a contract, who the NFL maybe afraid to give a shot because of his age. The CFL should be super pumped. Do you know who else should be super pumped by this news, the XFL, the new league ready to start in 2020.
Vince McMahon is behind the XFL, and his pockets are SUPER DEEP. He is worth 3.2 BILLION dollars as of 2019 and his money is continuing to grow. He can have a project that fails and does not need to worry if it fails. McMahon and his team, however, should be pumped, because there were some solid players to pick from for their upcoming season.
The AAF is a good league, I hope their majority owner will make an intelligent move, but it sounds like he is scared to invest anymore. It almost sounds like he is scared about his investment.
Competition can be a good thing, but when you are trying to make an impression on the NFL, competition is not a good thing.
