2017 NFL Draft Diamonds Scouting Notes: Harvey Langi, LB, BYU
2017 NFL Draft Scouting Notes.Harvey Langi (LB) 6’3. 249 Lbs. (Senior) BYU
The Positives.
1) Good NFL Size
2) Very good athleticism
3) Good strength
The Negatives.
1) Very little experience at LB position
2) Needs to improve his coverage ability
3) Needs to improve his tackling form
Harvey Langi is a former RB who has recently made the switch to linebacker. At 6’3 249 Lbs. he has the size the NFL covets, he is a very athletic player with good speed and strength. Langi will need to improve upon his tackling technique as he has some trouble wrapping up and bringing the ball carrier to the ground. He will also need to greatly improve upon his coverage ability in order to succeed at the next level. Being such a raw physical talent, he will need to be coached up quite a bit, but Langi has the tools to work with. In 2015 Langi played in 9 games, and had 39 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 2 INT’s. Harvey Langi will need to show improvement this coming season, and he will need to be more productive if he hopes to hear his name called on draft day. At this point I have a late round to undrafted free agent grade on Langi.
